Starting child care can be an exciting but anxious time for both you and your child. At Little Diggers we strive to ensure that the enrolment and orientation process is a positive experience for the whole family. Our friendly team of child care educators are there to support each family and make this time of transition as smooth and easy as possible.

Enrolment Procedure

  • The first step we recommend is to pop in for a free stay and play, to meet the educators and feel comfortable that you are making the right decision for your children and your family.
  • Making a claim for CCS with Centrelink
  • You will need to make a claim for child care subsidy with Centrelink by calling on 136 150.
  • Families should create or access their Centrelink online account via www.my.Gov.au to lodge a Child Care Subsidy Claim for your child.
  • Filling in your Enrolment form
  • Please contact Little Diggers for an enrolment form.
  • Once you have filled out your form, our centre director will be able to add you to the rolls and create your account on our system.
  • Our system will create a Complying written agreement between you and Little Diggers Early Learning Centre.
  • We can then submit the enrolment notice to centrelink, a confirmation request will be sent to your account via www.my.Gov.au
  • You will need to log into your my Gov account via www.my.Gov.au and confirm the details are correct.
  • Once the CWA has been confirmed, centrelink will notify us of your confirmed enrolment.

Before you start we will have

A staff member who will  show you through the entire centre and introduce you to all staff and will explain our policies & procedures, whilst your child enjoys a play in their new environment.

We have an orientation process that allows you to stay & play at the centre, with your child prior to the actual starting date. This gives you and your child an opportunity to settle in, ask questions and become familiar with the environment.

What to bring to the Centre:
  • A sun protective hat.
  • Two Sheets (one fitted) for rest time (no plastic bags).
  • Drink Bottles.
  • Food for (special dietary requirements)
  • Change of clothes for messy play (seasonal).
  • Undies (if toilet training).
  • Bottles containing dairy, formula or breast milk (clearly labelled with your child’s name).
  • Comfort items such as dummies, blankets etc.
Fees

Once your child has been accepted at the centre 2 weeks fees are payable before starting and you must keep your account I week in advance, you will be emailed weekly statements so you can easily access your statements.

Fees are payable for every day your child is enrolled, including public holidays, sick days and absences due to family holidays. All of our shows, sports and incursions are included in your fees there are no additional hidden charges.

Families are responsible for contacting the Department of Human Services before commencing enrolment to lodge a claim for Child Care Subsidy (CCS) or Additional Child Care Subsidy (ACCS)
